Washington, DC - U.S. Representative Mike Rogers (R-AL), Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee, released a statement following reports that the Biden administration is continuing to negotiate with the Iranian regime in an attempt to revive the failed 2015 Iran nuclear deal.

“The old saying is, ‘The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.’ Which is exactly what the Biden administration is trying to do with the failed Iran nuclear deal. It was clear years ago that Iran was in violation of the terms of the Obama-Biden deal and that’s not going to change. It’s insane that the administration is still trying to negotiate with the regime after it attempted to kidnap an American citizen on American soil.

"Reports that the administration is weighing ‘tighter sanctions on Iranian oil sales to China’ would carry a lot more weight if the Biden administration didn’t already roll back sanctions and allow the Iranian regime to access frozen funds in South Korea and Japan. The Iranian regime has shown the world who they are – Biden should not continue to ignore their despicable actions for political expediency.”
