WASHINGTON- Rep. Mac Thornberry, Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee, made the following statement on the National Defense Authorization Act of Fiscal Year 2021 becoming law:
"The American people should be reassured that the long, bipartisan tradition of support for our troops and for a strong national defense remains intact. I hope they are also encouraged to see that, at least on national security, the parties can work together and our system of government under the Constitution works as intended.
The continuing challenge for members of both parties in the months ahead will be to set aside partisan agendas and put the country first. Maintaining the broad bipartisan approach to defending the country that has been so successful for us and for the world should be one of the highest priorities."
