Press Release

WASHINGTON- Rep. Mac Thornberry, ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee, made the following statement on the National Defense Authorization Act for FY21:

"For 59 years, presidents and congresses of both political parties have come together to pass the National Defense Authorization Act. The purpose of the bill has always been to support our troops and to protect American national security. Disagreements on all other issues have been put aside. This year should be no different.

"This year’s bill passed the House by a vote of 295 to 125 and passed the Senate 86 to 14. The conference agreement is an even stronger bill for U.S. national security and should be supported."
