Washington, D.C. – Today, Chairman Mac Thornberry (R-TX), of the House Armed Services Committee, released the following statement on the passing of former House Armed Services Committee Chairman Ron Dellums (D-CA):
"I was sorry to learn of the passing of former House Armed Services Committee Chairman Ron Dellums. He was the Ranking Member of the Committee as I was newly elected to Congress. We obviously came from different parts of the country and had very different views on national security. But he was always respectful of other opinions and inclusive of newer members of the Committee. He was a passionate advocate for his positions and also fair and realistic about what is possible. He will be missed."
